Even the approach is adventurous: a small road with hardly any traffic winds its way up a mountain pass. After countless bends, we reach an old building, which serves as the starting point for this hike. From here, we make our way to the ferry terminal, which is almost unknown even to the locals. The ferry takes us across the mountain reservoir along rugged rock faces and also offers one of the most beautiful views in autumn, when the surrounding mountain slopes glow in rich shades of orange and red. The narrow hiking trail starts from the jetty. Always close to the clear course of the river, with several small waterfalls, we need around 60 minutes to reach the turning point, which is located at the three-tiered thundering waterfall. Here we recharge our batteries for the way back.

A mountain lake lies hidden in one of the surrounding mountain ranges, created by the construction of a dam in the 1950s.
 
The lake can only be reached via a remote, narrow mountain road, at the end of which a hiking trail leads to a pier. A ferry is operated from here, which takes you to the actual hiking trail.
 
Suddenly you find yourself in a landscape whose atmosphere is almost magical and evokes associations with the “Lord of the Rings” films for many.
 
The path is pristine, without barriers; you feel connected to nature and the flowing water. There are few reminders of human influence here, a place made for poets.
 
After about an hour, you reach your destination: the hidden three-tiered waterfall. The most diverse states that water can take on can be seen here without interruption. Gently flowing, noisily crashing, it slowly but steadily erodes the rock itself.
 
Here, at the turning point of the hike, you can linger and recharge your batteries or simply listen to the water.
 
Back at the starting point, we look into slightly exhausted but satisfied faces. Many people haven’t ever experienced a landscape like this, and some describe the excursion as an absolute insider tip and highlight of their trip.
